No, that’s not a Jeff Foxworthy joke (you know, you might be a redneck if …), just a fact. Waffle House is a NASCAR kind of place, with a NASCAR type of crowd.

Now the popular roadside diner and late-night attraction (yes, if you’ve ever been late at night, you know if can be highly entertaining) is teaming up with the King of NASCAR for one of the year’s most popular races.
Waffle House will join Richard Petty Motorsports supporter Smithfield to sponsor Aric Almirola’s No. 43 Ford for the Bristol Night Race on Aug. 20.
This is not the first time Smithfield Foods and Waffle House have teamed up. Almirola finished fourth at Richmond last year in the No. 43 Smithfield/Waffle House Ford.
Sponsorship deal fit for the King
The companies also created Waffle House Race for Rewards, an app that allows patrons to earn points by eating at the diner. Points can be redeemed for Waffle House merchandise and Smithfield racing gear, and this year there’s a new twist. Collect 250 points — that’s a lot of hash browns — and you can sponsor a portion of the car.

“We’re thrilled to have Waffle House joining Smithfield on our No. 43 Ford,” Petty said. “The patrons at Waffle House are overwhelmingly NASCAR fans.”
Almirola got a jump on the sponsorship Wednesday by cooking up some food for Waffle House patrons.
And, of course, he and The King couldn’t leave without sampling the breakfast fare.
This week, Sprint Cup is at Dover.
