A Short Hike, which was nominated for multiple awards by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, is now available on the Nintendo Switch as a timed-console exclusive. This seems to indicate that the game will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox down the line as well, but it’s unclear just how long A Short Hike’s Switch exclusivity will last. Regardless, Switch owners can check out the award-winning game now and see what all the fuss is about.

Oddly enough, one game that A Short Hike can be compared to is actually The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game is all about exploration, with players having to climb up cliffs and glide around to reach new areas. It also draws inspiration from titles like Super Mario 64 and Animal Crossing. Considering this, it may be especially relevant to Switch owners, and so it’s no surprise that it’s made its way to the Nintendo Switch.
A Short Hike was just one of many indie games revealed during the Indie World showcase. And now that Nintendo has shown these games, fans will be hoping for a proper Nintendo Direct presentation before August 2020 wraps up. Whether or not they get their wish remains to be seen, but they’ll have their fingers crossed.
A Short Hike is available for PC and Switch.
