Los Angeles Lakers Preview
Los Angeles Lakers’ 10-game winning run came to an end on Sunday as they were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks, although Frank Vogel’s team bounced back on Tuesday night as they picked up an impressive win over the Denver Nuggets.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 50 points during LA’s 18th win of the season, while Dwight Howard also performed well after failing to make much of an impact over the past few weeks. The Lakers also limited Denver to just 96 points, and Vogel’s team is now allowing just 103.7 points per game.
Key Player - LeBron James
James was once again excellent during Los Angeles’ win over the Nuggets last night, as he recorded 25 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. However, the 34-year-old logged 37 minutes, and the Lakers will need their superstar at the top of his game as they play the second of a back-to-back.
Lakers Predicted Lineup:
Anthony Davis, LeBron James, JaVale McGee, Danny Green, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Utah Jazz Preview
Following an impressive start to the season, Utah Jazz appeared to be serious contenders in the West, although Quin Snyder’s team has struggled over the past two weeks. Utah’s defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night was their fourth in five games, and their once-formidable defense is now giving up 105.1 points per game. Nevertheless, Jazz remain strong at home - and have just lost once at Vivint Smart Home Arena heading into tonight’s game.
Key Player - Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell is enjoying a career-year, although the 23-year-old has struggled with his shot over the past week, recording just 34 points over his last two appearances. However, Mitchell is still averaging 24.5 points per game for the season, and the dynamic guard is known for his tendency to save his biggest performances for the biggest games.
Jazz Predicted Lineup:
Bojan Bogdanovic, Royce O’Neale, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley Jr.
Lakers vs Jazz Match Prediction
The Jazz may have had an extra day of rest, although Utah’s offense is one of the worst in the NBA, while the LA defense has remained good despite the absence of Avery Bradley. Due to this, the Lakers enter the game as the slight favorite, and Vogel’s team should have enough to pick up a 19th win of the season.
