Now that many are able to get their hands on Lost Ark and see what it’s about, they’re keen to start working out the best weapons, how to level up their characters, and more. One element that will require thought before players start Lost Ark is which class they’re going to choose. Classes will have a large effect on the way a player experiences the game, and might require trial and error. There is a wide range to choose from, with typical fantasy RPG classics like magic users, warriors, and the Assassin class: a deadly melee-focused fighter that deals high damage before retreating to the shadows.

The Assassin Class in Lost Ark
There are five classes for players to choose from: Martial Artist, Warrior, Gunner, Mage, and Assassin. Each offers different weapons, gameplay styles, and abilities, with playstyle preview videos available to view before committing. Like in many RPGs, Assassins are the rogue-like class that favor speed, agility, and stealth to perform deadly attacks by channeling dark powers. There are two subclasses: Shadowhunter and Deathblade. Both of these have a focus on melee, but they each have different moves and focuses to offer some variety within the class.
When a new MMORPG launches, many players wonder what the “best” class to choose will be. While some may appear stronger or easier to handle, it depends on how the player prefers to play. With the Lost Ark Assassin class, there is an array of ranged and close-quarters attacks to cover a variety of approaches to combat, and each subclass provides players with more customizations. Whether they favor more of a demonic power-focus or a traditional multi-bladed fighter, Lost Ark offers a choice.
Lost Ark Assassin Subclasses - Shadowhunter and Deathblade
For abilities more focused on weapon-based attacks, Shadowhunters can use Sharpened Cut to slash through enemies as players spin through them, or Spinning Weapon to throw the left-hand weapon forward. The right-hand weapon can also be launched forward to inflict occasional damage on antagonists, making sure that the Assassin is relentless in taking down enemies and considered with how much pain they can inflict. With the class customization available in Lost Ark, players are able to construct their own controllable character to a high degree of specialization.
If players don’t like the shapeshifting Shadowhunters, they can choose the Deathblade class that focuses on quick combos with three swords. Deathblade Assassins are fast-paced and can deal massive damage – particularly effective in PvP combat. Although their low health can cause problems, they can quickly get themselves out of trouble with skills that help their mobility and increase avoidance. Deathblade moves include Flash Blink, in which players dash forward and inflict damage on any enemy in their path, launching them into the air for further damage. Abilities like Soul Absorber and Blitz Rush also involve charging forward to inflict high damage, meanwhile Moonlight Sonic pulls enemies in closer after a sweeping slash to ensure they’re within range of the Deathblade’s deadly swords.
