RELATED: Lost Ark: Tips For Inferno Legion RaidsTo enter the first phase of the Argos Abyss Raid in Lost Ark, players must have an item level of 1,370. Once achieved, players will join with seven others to form an eight-person team to face off with a versatile foe with the power to destroy everything in its path. With some helpful guidance, players will take the beast by the horns and defeat Argos.
Phase One
At the start, the team will be divided into two groups of four and assigned the sun or the moon. Players must pay attention to which one they are as it will heavily affect their gameplay throughout Phase One.
Argos’s main mechanics in this phase revolve around the Sun and the Moon. Players labeled as Sun will have a yellow circle beneath them. Those labeled as Moon will have a purple circle. They cannot touch the color of the opposite debuff at any time.
Safe Spot
Argos will generate four safe spots per group, and only one player can be in each. The moon spots will always be closer to Argos than the sun spots. Any player caught outside their safe spot will be taken down by the shockwave Argos sends out.
RELATED: Lost Ark: Stronghold GuideA recommendation for handling this is to use the numbers assigned to each player and match them to north, east, south, and west directions. This way, each player knows exactly which safe spot is theirs.
Tranquility
Immediately following Safe Spot, Argos will be surrounded by a dotted bar, entering the neutral phase. Argos must be kept neutral to allow the teams to incapacitate him for massive damage once it ends. Failure to do this will cause a one-hit kill attack on the team of the opposite color.
The teams can cheese it, doing no damage; however, this leaves them open to failure by not doing enough damage. Alternatively, they can orchestrate their attacks to have one team attack until Argos changes groups, then the other team can attack, returning the neutral. Player colors will change after Tranquility.
Sun And Moon Circles
Periodically, Argos will fully surround himself with a sun or a moon ring. Players of similar colors can safely stand within the ring and battle with Argos. Players of the opposite color can also enter the ring, but it’s very conditional.
They will have a bar over their heads that runs out over time. If the bar runs out entirely, they will receive massive damage and die. However, stepping outside the ring will refill the bar, allowing them to move back into the fight.
Sun And Moon Orbs
Throughout the battle, Argos will summon four orbs of one color. The team of that color will need to soak one orb a piece. Under no circumstances should any player soak more than one orb. This will cause unnecessary damage and stunning.
If a player is dead, their orb should be left untouched. When it explodes, the effects can be dodged. Taking damage from two orbs cannot be.
Big Pizza and Little Pizza
With Big Pizza, Argos divides the floor into eight pizza slices of purple and yellow. Players must scramble to get to their matching color in time. Failing this, they will receive massive damage. This attack comes in threes.
With Small Pizza, the pizza is flashed on the floor five times to allow players to memorize the location of their safe spots. They will then have to quickly run to the correct spots to avoid severe damage.
Phase Two
Phase Two of the raid continues the Sun and Moon mechanics and is split into five parts. The teams will be separated in parts 2 and 4, and communication will be key.
At the start of Phase Two, players will each be assigned either the sun or the moon, as in Phase One. Argos introduces new attacks, and there will be a second boss to contend with.
Parts One, Three, And Five
Both teams will be in the Argos arena for Parts One, Three, and Five of Phase Two. They will battle Argos together as they did in Phase One. However, Argos will have gained some strength.
His attacks are similar to those in Phase One, including the Pizza attacks. The main difference here will be that the teams’ colors will not change throughout the battle.
Part Two
The Sun team will be transported to another platform to battle the mini-boss Veorix. The primary attack mechanisms consist of headbutts, tail swings, and charges. Occasionally, a wave of green particles or puddles will be released that can cause damage and stun the players that come into contact with them.
The two wipe mechanics require expert communication between the parties. A member of the Moon team must go to the edge of the Argos platform to view the Veorix platform for the signals. Eight revolving circles indicate the party should move to the center of the platform. An arrow indicates the party should move to the corner it is pointing toward.
Part Four
The Moon team will be transported to another platform to battle Tarvos, the mini-boss. The primary attacks will be wave punches, spike attacks, and explosive mines. Players on both platforms must destroy the totems on the edges of their maps. Leaving them standing for too long will cause a wipe to the other team.
They are identified on the mini-map as yellow spots. Players must make it a priority to destroy these totems as soon as possible.
Phase Three
The mechanics take another change in Phase Three, with three weathers taking center stage: Daytime, Nighttime, and Dawn. During Daytime, there will be a movement speed debuff, red seeds will explode, and green seeds will remove the debuff.
During Nighttime, there will be a blind debuff, blue seeds will cause poison, and red seeds will remove the debuff. During Dawn, there will be a damage-over-time debuff, green seeds will entrap the players near them, and blue seeds will shield players from the debuff.
Sun Or Moon Blast
Argos will charge Sun energy during Daytime and Moon energy during Nighttime and mark two players with the corresponding marker on their heads. Eventually, a stationary marker will be placed at the last location the players were on the map.
Argos will jump and, upon landing, release the charged-up energy. Anyone not in one of these markers will be immediately killed. Each marker holds four players, and they cannot be crossed, or they cancel out. This means the two marked players must position themselves far enough apart to prevent this from occurring.
Moondrops
Argos will drop purple seeds across the map. Players must race to collect all the seeds as he charges up his Moon energy. They can see where the seeds are by looking at the mini-map.
RELATED: Lost Ark: Where To Get Harmony ShardsAll players will immediately die if a single seed is left on the map when Argos releases his charged-up energy. Everyone will need to spread out to quickly collect the seeds to prevent this from happening.
Sundrop
Another wipe attack involves Argos moving to the center of the map and charging up Sun energy. At the same time, a sundrop will fall to the ground at a specific location indicated on the mini-map as a yellow dot.
The goal is for all players to make it to the sundrop before the energy is released. Everyone gets wiped if even one player doesn’t make it to the spot.
Sun And Moon Blast
At Dawn, Argos will charge up both Sun and Moon energy. Blue seeds will also be dropped that offer shields that can protect multiple players at once.
This is one of the easiest attacks to handle because it is not a full wipe. However, players must be careful to avoid the green seeds that are also dropped. These seeds will entrap the players, preventing them from getting to the shield seeds.
