But what about the journey between level one and fifty? The sorceress starts off as a vulnerable and meek class, able to be swarmed and killed. Access to her best skills are limited and she doesn’t have a party to assist. With a few tips, the leveling process in Lost Ark can be just as fun as the endgame domination.

Use, But Don’t Level, Stun Spells

Reverse Gravity, Blaze, and Lightning Vortex all belong on the taskbar. By keeping enemies stunned, the sorceress can keep enemies disabled while she charges up her burst damage abilities. There is a temptation to pump some points into these abilities, but that must be resisted.

Since the goal is to level up quickly, the better-invested points are spent in spells like Explosion, Inferno, and Ice Shower. Beef up the damage on the burst spells and let the small stun and damage-over-time holds be unleveled placeholders in between.

Spam Metered Abilities

Unlike many classes where their metered abilities take an eternity to recharge, the Sorceress can refill hers in a snap. Since Arcane Rupture empowers her spells, there really isn’t any reason to leave it off of a cooldown. Keep the damage coming.

The list of things level fifty players get to do might look like more fun, but there is plenty of entertainment to be had using the other metered ability, Blink. This extra mobility work whenever dodge in on cooldown. At lower levels, this grants the Sorceress immunity to nearly everything that enemy mobs can do.

Always Be Casting Something Big

There are two things to consider when choosing which spells to use: mana and cooldowns. The best burst spells are respectful of both. Look for something that’s easy on cost and short on cooldowns. If the ideal rotation goes between stun and burst, then the sorceress needs to have their first skill back up and ready to go after cycling through the other seven.

The plan is to always be casting something big in between the stuns and holds. Choosing the biggest and baddest spell, like Explosion, is fine, but make sure to factor in the long cooldown with the other skills. If all big damage abilities go on cooldown or the character runs out of mana, it’s time to change the build.

Lost Ark was released on December 4th, 2019, and is available on PC.
