Holtz was spotted at the Republican National Convention last month with a purple Crown Royal bag everyone hoped was full of alcoholic, Canadian goodness. However, it turns out the bag had just about everything in it other than whiskey.

Holtz said he was on his way to an interview with CNN but couldn’t bring in his backpack, which he claimed to “carry everything in.” He told Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly the purple bag contained his prescriptions, Aleve, Advil, his cell phone, iPod, pipes and smoking tobacco.
But the question still remains, what happened to the bottle that originally inhabited that bag?
“Why do I have that bag? When I go to Augusta (National Golf Club) and entertain people they many times want to drink after golf and before dinner,” Holtz said. “So I would have Crown Royal, vodka, scotch for those. I will have a glass of chardonnay at night before I go to bed.”
